A Guide to Popular Wines

Whether you are trying to decide what wine to bring to a party, select a bottle as a holiday gift or want to give a novice wine drinker a way to learn and select wines, Good, Better, Best Wines is a guide that ranks popular wines by variety and price, up to $15. It has tasting notes and bottle images, to help you locate the wine on the shelf with ease.

You don’t need to spend big bucks to choose a good wine with Good, Better, Best Wines: A No-Nonsense Guide to Popular Wines in your pocket. It compares popular, big-brand wines like Beringer, Kendall-Jackson and Woodbridge, so you know they’ll be in stock at your local store. And the guide itself is only $12.95, making it a great office gift or stocking stuffer. In fact, get some use out of it when choosing your holiday wines before giving it as a gift!

The book is separated into five sections:

  • Wine Basics
  • White Wines
  • Red Wines
  • Rose and Sparkling Wines
  • Bargain Wines, Dessert Wines, and Party Wines

As you read each section, it tells you the Good Wines, the Better Wines and the Best Wines in a variety of price ranges. The more dollar signs, the pricier it is. But the price never goes over $15! $ = super low and under $4.99. $$$$ = $11 – $15. Not so scary, right? Might as well splurge at those prices!

I immediately went to the whites, to see what it suggested for Sauvignon Blanc, my favorite white. And now I know what to get the next time my husband and I want to share a bottle and I just feel lost with all the choices!
