Cortina Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2001

Seghesio, Dry Creek Valley, California, USA, Zinfandel

Carolyn Evans-Hammond says On the nose, pepper and ripe raspberry. On the palate, this wine is dense and robust with flavours of pepper, licorice and crushed berries. The tannins are tight and gripping and the acidity is high making this a fairly rough wine that needs to round out in bottle. Give it a few years and taste it again. The potential is certainly there to develop better balance and complexity.

Carolyn Evans-Hammond's Score 79
    Zinfandel 2001

Zefina Winery, Columbia Valley, Washington State, USA, Zinfandel

Carolyn Evans-Hammond says Restrained nose of black licorice leads to a palate of smoke and licorice and berries. Well-balanced and good structure. Drink with duck.

Carolyn Evans-Hammond's Score 88
